Hughes Paddison are proud to have  been asked to provide support to Cheltenham & District Riding Club. As a result we sponsored several of the classes at the Club’s Annual Summer Show held at Church Farm, Shurdington on Sunday 22nd August.

There was stiff competition in all events, and Hughes Paddison sponsored the dressage and all showing classes including in hand, ridden and hunter classes as well as some of the Show Jumping and Championship classes. In addition to our financial support, all placed competitors in these classes received striking Hughes Paddison rosettes in the Firm's colours.

This was a large event with competitors taking part in 23 events throughout the day. From the children competing in the mini jumping event and fancy dress horses events right up to the serious competition in the adult classes, everyone had a great day, aided in no small measure by the (finally) seasonal August weather.

It’s difficult to identify stand out performances as so many competitors exceeded their personal goals, but here are a few: Helen Gabriel riding Romeo taking top place in the Novice 24 Dressage Class with an outstanding test, Kim Drinkwater riding Paddy who took top spot in the Prelim 12 Dressage class receiving glowing comments from British Dressage listed judge Beth Franz who kindly officiated in all the dressage classes. Both Helen and Kim are representing Cheltenham Riding Club in the British Riding Clubs National Finals to be held at the Lincoln County Show Ground in September. Bob Fennell continued his season of success in winning the Hunter Class riding Rob Phelps's grey eventer Otis. In the top show jumping class of the day honours went to Alison Cupper riding Kaiser Chief who prevailed in the hotly contested "jump off"
