Solicitor Doug Armstrong has recently joined the Board of Gloucestershire Crimestoppers.  Crimestoppers is a charity - independent of the police - supported entirely by voluntary contributions and run by a board of volunteers.  It was set up as a three-way partnership between the police, the media and the community to help the police solve crimes using anonymous information provided by members of the public.

Since the charity was set up in 1988 it has achieved great success nationwide.  In 23 years information given to Crimestoppers has led to over 100,000 arrests and charges made, £114 million of goods have been recovered and £202 million of drugs have been seized.  We see Doug’s involvement in Crimestoppers as an extension of our long held commitment to our local community.

Doug  along with a number of colleagues from Hughes Paddison attended the Crimestoppers Chinese New Year fundraising dinner on 3rd February where  Hughes Paddison sponsored the champagne reception.  The well attended  event raised over £2,000.00 for the charity.
