Hughes Paddison - Bristol 10k run

Five intrepid lawyers from Hughes Paddison swapped their suits for shorts and ran (mostly) the Bristol 10k run on Sunday 15th May. Whilst they didn’t quite manage to keep up with the winner, they did all post very respectable times with all five coming in under or around the one hour mark.

Taking part were three of our trainees, Damon Brookes, Danielle Vincent and Louise Rhys-Thomas along with family legal executive Diane Kemple and conveyancing solicitor Nadia Santry. They all put a lot of training into the event and even managed to raise money for charity by betting on their times with other local solicitors.

This was a great achievement for the five, many of whom had not run in a competitive race before. There were some aches and pains in the office on Monday, but this did not stop consultant John Hughes from demanding that they all “get training for next year”. However, such encouragement is not needed as our gallant runners are already considering which run they can conquer next;  Damon will definitely be competing in the Cheltenham triathalon in September and Diane will be competing in a half marathon

Damon Brookes competed in the Gloucester Triathlon which was sponsored by Hughes Paddison.  Damon finished in 1 hour 36.15. a very creditable time for his first venture at a multi-discipline event, although some way behind the Firm's accountant Phil Parsons of Clement Rabjohns in Worcester, who was second overall in 1 hour 09.43.
