Role: Solicitor - Private Client
 

Full-time: 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday

Salary: Dependent upon experience

Key Requirements and Technical Ability

You will be a Solicitor with 5 – 10 years PQE.

You must be STEP qualified or working towards a STEP qualification.  While you may have some third parties who introduce work to you, you will have experience of working with colleagues in other practice areas to encourage the referral of clients to the Private Client department. Ideally you will have an interest in development and maintenance of precedents and you will be able to see the benefits of using a case management system for your work.

Role: Legal Secretary - Residential Property Department

We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team, working full time in our Residential Property Department. 

The Role

You will use digital dictation and a case management system which includes a workflow. You will be liaising with clients and external organisations by telephone, email and hard copy correspondence.  You will ensure that your work is accurate and completed to deadline when necessary.    Photocopying, binding, diary management, booking and scheduling of appointments and travel arrangements, file opening and closing and handling of confidential information will also form part of your role.  Your responsibilities will include maintaining file records and databases pertaining to your work and, where necessary, to the work of your colleagues.  You will be providing support to the Head of the Residential Property Department.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Accurate audio-typing skills.
  • Extensive recent experience in Residential Property work, preferably at PA/paralegal level.
  • An understanding of the importance of client care.

Role: Senior Corporate and Commercial Solicitor

We are looking for a senior solicitor to join our fast growing corporate and commercial team in Cheltenham. The candidate will be joining as the fifth member of the team and will be expected to both support the head of team, Jon Rathbone, and be able to manage their own transactions and matters with supervision where appropriate.  Jon started the team in February 2017 and is now supported by a solicitor with 3 years PQE, a trainee and a secretary. 

In its first two years, the team has worked on a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions ranging from several multi-million pound sales and acquisitions to the sale of local retail businesses. About three quarters of the work is currently corporate. The commercial work includes IT contracts, a range of general commercial contracts and GDPR. 

Jon Rathbone started life as a corporate lawyer at Veale Wasbrough and Osborne Clarke in Bristol before taking some time out of his legal career to perfect the design and take to market a bestselling baby product. He has also spent a year as the in-house Group Legal Counsel at Mulberry Group plc. Jon’s breadth of experience, both as a lawyer and entrepreneur, has helped the team to grow with clients quick to appreciate their commercial, proactive and pragmatic approach.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have *4 to 8 years post qualification experience, solid academics, and experience of working within a reputable firm. At least a part of that experience needs to be in corporate. Some commercial experience would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Personable and comfortable with business development, you must be excited by the opportunity to help the corporate team to continue to expand and ultimately build up your own client base.
