Hughes Paddison Training Contract Programme

The Directors at Hughes Paddison are now inviting applications for the 2021 Training Contract Programme, across two intakes in Spring and Autumn 2021.

We look to recruit candidates with excellent interpersonal skills, a strong academic record and who ideally will have passed their LPC by the time their training contract commences. We find candidates with legal experience and commercial awareness attractive.

Hughes Paddison offers a varied training programme which will provide a trainee with a strong foundation upon which to develop their legal career. During your training contract you will work alongside directors and senior lawyers. The firm likes to give responsibility to those trainees that show promise. We ensure that trainees experience contentious and non-contentious work and follow SRA guidelines and practices.

We have a wealth of knowledge across a number of legal specialisms and, in recent years, the firm has seen growth particularly in our commercial offering to clients. Not only does the diverse nature of the legal services we provide to clients ensure that client's needs are met, it also provides our lawyers with the opportunity to engage in a training programme that provides trainees with a solid platform from which they can develop a career.

We have designed our training contract to ensure that trainees spend six months in each seat. This gives our trainees an idea as to whether or not this is a seat that they can flourish and develop within. We operate a dual appraisal system per seat, giving trainees feedback mid-seat and at the end of each seat with advice and guidance as to what to work on and how to hone down their skills.

Applications are now being accepted, with a view to interview in September 2020. The closing date for applications is 10th August 2020.  You will be contacted only if you have secured an invitation to interview which will take place in September 2020.
