Hughes Paddison's 25th Birthday Party

We recently held a Party at our offices to celebrate 25 years in practice.  We were joined by Cheltenham MP Martin Horwood and over 80 guests.

The Firm was founded as Hughes & Co in 1985 by solicitors Julie and John Hughes and initially practised in Pittville Street.  Having started with one member of staff, a YTS girl, they were shortly joined by Julie's secretary Teresa Dalton from Julie's old Firm Griffiths McIlquham.  Teresa is still with the Firm 25 years later as office manager.

John Hughes had worked in Cheltenham for Elgoods (now BPE), and at the Party staff and partners from their previous Firms, along with long-standing Clients and professional guests who have supported the Firm over the years celebrated the anniversary and viewed paintings by famous local artist Irene Tyack, founder ot the Yellow Hat Tribe.

Since founding the Firm, Julie and John were joined by Mark Paddison in 1992.  Mark was formerly a Partner in long standing Cheltenham firm Rickerby Jessop.  We were subsequently joined by the two Janes, David and Gareth, so today from one YTS girl, the Firm has grown to number over 40 Partners and staff.  The Firm changed its name to Hughes Paddison in 1995 and moved into its present premises at 10 Royal Crescent in 1998 and extended into the adjoining building in 2005.
