We’re delighted to welcome Caroline Leviss as Director in our Corporate and Commercial Department. Caroline brings a wealth of experience and a fascinating and varied career, having worked with commercial businesses, charities, healthcare providers and social housing organisations.
Her breadth of experience, commercial understanding and pragmatic approach make her a valuable addition to Hughes Paddison, as we continue to support businesses and organisations across Gloucestershire and beyond.
For Caroline, one of the most rewarding aspects of corporate and commercial law is the opportunity to get to know the people behind the organisations she advises.
“I particularly enjoy getting to know business owners, learning about their history, ambitions and objectives, and then working with them to help achieve their goals.”
Having worked across a range of sectors, Caroline understands that every organisation has its own priorities, challenges and ambitions. This experience enables her to look beyond the immediate legal issue, understand the bigger picture and provide advice that reflects what matters most to each client.
Her experience also extends to governance, helping organisations establish effective frameworks for decision-making, accountability and risk management. Caroline believes that good governance is fundamental to long-term success, enabling organisations to identify potential issues early and make informed decisions with confidence.
Caroline believes that the best client relationships are built on trust, communication and a genuine understanding of the business. She takes pride in making complex legal matters accessible, helping clients understand their options and feel confident about the decisions they need to make.
As businesses navigate an increasingly complex commercial environment, she also recognises that clients need more than technical legal expertise. They need a trusted adviser who understands their objectives, provides practical guidance and can act as a sounding board when important decisions arise.
As Caroline explains:
“What they need is a trusted adviser who provides practical guidance and acts as a sounding board when important decisions need to be made.”
This combination of legal expertise, commercial awareness and a calm, pragmatic approach is central to the support Caroline offers her clients.
Caroline's career has certainly been varied. Among her professional highlights was working on a project connected with the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, advising an organisation that provided premises for the Austrian teams.
The experience involved the hire of a historic building near the Tower of London, containing priceless works of art – prompting Caroline to wonder what might happen if celebrations following a gold medal became a little too enthusiastic!
Away from the office, Caroline enjoys keeping active and spending time outdoors. Saturday mornings often begin with yoga, while Sundays are usually reserved for dragon boating with a local club, whatever the weather. She also loves travelling and is always planning her next adventure.
For Caroline, joining Hughes Paddison is as much about the people as it is about the work. As she explains:
“The most important aspect of any new role for me is the people. Hughes Paddison has an excellent reputation for being a friendly, approachable and supportive firm, and that was a major attraction. I am looking forward to working with colleagues across the firm, building new relationships and helping clients achieve their commercial objectives.”
We’re thrilled to have Caroline on board and look forward to the experience, insight and fresh perspectives she brings to our Corporate and Commercial Department.
Whether you’re running a growing business, managing a charity or other organisation, considering a commercial transaction or looking for guidance on governance, Caroline would be delighted to hear from you.
Please join us in welcoming Caroline to Hughes Paddison. She looks forward to meeting our existing clients, building new relationships and introducing more businesses and organisations to the firm.
