Why we chose Winstons Wish as our Charity of the Year

This year we are delighted to support ‘Winston’s Wish’ as our Charity of the Year.

Winston’s Wish is a national charity that provides bereavement support, guidance and information to children and young people (up to 25) and their families after the death of someone close to them. They offer a range of practical support via a Freephone Helpline, online resources, individual and group support, publications, and training for professionals.

Did you know that, “More than 100 children are bereaved of a parent every day in the UK, that’s around 41,000 every single year.”

Their Vision: A society in which every child and young person gets the help they need after anyone close to them dies.

Their Mission: To make sure no child or young person faces grief alone.

To better understand the work that they do, please watch their video below:

Winston’s Wish provides emotional and practical bereavement support to children, young people and those who care for them. Their expert teams offer one off and ongoing bereavement support and they also provide online resources, specialist publications and training for professionals.

Our hope is that by choosing Winston’s Wish as our Charity of the Year, we can help bereaved children who are in desperate need of support across the UK.

Our aim is to help raise awareness of Winston’s Wish and the work that they do and also help fundraise to enable them to reach a wider audience.

Our Charity of the Year got off to an amazing start with an inspiring talk from Kerry and Louisa from Winston’s Wish who came to visit our offices last Friday.

We’re really looking forward to getting started and raising much needed funds for the amazing work that Winston’s Wish do.
