Hughes Paddison makes two senior promotions

We are delighted to have today announced two promotions within our Senior Management Team. Jon Rathbone has been made an Equity Director within the firm, whilst Julie Bennett has been made a Director.

Jon Rathbone joined Hughes Paddison in February 2017 as a Director to establish the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Department. He came from international law firm, DAC Beachcroft, and in just over three years he has built up a successful team, working on over 70 transactions with a combined value of over £70m and enhanced Hughes Paddison’s reputation as a full service commercial law firm.

Julie Bennett joined the firm’s Family Department in November 2014 having previously practised in Worcestershire. Her areas of specialism for which she has built an excellent reputation include divorce, civil partnership breakdown, pre-marital agreements, domestic violence and children issues. Julie is now one of four directors in the Family Department which is one of the largest family law departments in Gloucestershire and is continuing to build on its fantastic reputation both locally and nationally

Jane Brothwood, Managing Director, commented on the two promotions:

“We have recently been re-assuring our clients and contacts that it is very much business as usual, as our team have adapted brilliantly to new ways of working. Announcing these two promotions at this point in time is further evidence, if it was needed, that this is the case. The expertise and approach that our teams demonstrate day in, day out is what sets us apart from our competitors. I am absolutely delighted to announce these promotions and congratulate Jon on becoming an Equity Director and Julie on being made a Director. The contribution they have both made to our business has been outstanding and I very much look forward to seeing them flourish in these new positions”.

Jon Rathbone commented:

“I would like to thank Jane and the other Equity Directors for the trust that they have shown in me, by inviting me to become an Equity Director.  We have a brilliant team and I have been delighted with the quality and variety of companies and transactions we have been involved in. Hughes Paddison has a fantastic client base and reputation which has helped us to grow the department so quickly.   I feel very fortunate to have found such a great group of people to work with and I am very excited about the future and what it holds”.

Julie Bennett commented:

“I am delighted to be taking this next step in my career with Hughes Paddison. Within the Family Team we have an excellent reputation for our expertise as well as the sensitive manner in which we help our clients at what is invariably a stressful and traumatic time. I am looking forward to carrying on this work but also getting to grips with the additional responsibilities of being a Director”.
