Compliance Manager

Hayley has over 7 years’ experience as a Compliance Officer, having held roles in both FCA and SRA regulated firms before joining Hughes Paddison. Hayley has a particular interest in ensuring fair client outcomes, and works closely with our departments to ensure that our clients receive the highest level of service.

In her spare time Hayley spends time with her young family, and can often be found paddleboarding on the River Avon (in warmer months).

Landlord's dispensation for major works: getting it right

Many residential landlords will be familiar with the requirement to consult with tenants before major works are carried out. The landlord's right to seek dispensation from the Tribunal where it has failed to consult is perhaps less well understood. In a recent Upper Tribunal appeal, Hughes Paddison successfully challenged the First Tier Tribunal’s interpretation of the law. New Digital LPAs- A welcome reform or a minefield

The OPG registered a record 1,073,032 LPAs in 2022-2023. Concerns over the paper-based system led to reforms, culminating in the Powers of Attorney Act 2023 for a safer and simpler process.
