Entering the legal profession as a trainee is an exciting and challenging step in your career. There is no question that entering a training contract is a period of intense learning and professional growth and one where hands-on-experience prepares you for a life as a qualified solicitor.
Supporting early careers are important to our continued success, but we also know how valuable the experience to train in an established law firm that provides an array of legal services to its clients and businesses is to you too.
As a trainee you will rotate through different practice areas, known as seats. This could include Corporate & Commercial Law, Private Client, Commercial Property, Private Client, Family, Residential Conveyancing or Litigation. Each seat provides a unique learning opportunity, helping you determine which area best aligns with your interests and strengths.
During your training you will:
Your training contact is about more than just legal knowledge, it’s about developing the skills required to succeed as a Solicitor.
Our teams have a wealth of knowledge and experience and love nothing more than guiding and supporting our trainees to develop the critical skills to become a qualified solicitor.
A training contract is both rewarding and demanding.
To succeed, you’ll need a combination of skills, resilience, and the right mindset. You’ll need the ability to adapt quickly and stay composed under pressure with the ability to uphold confidentiality and ethical standards.
The best trainees embrace feedback, learn from mistakes, and continuously seek to improve themselves. Staying curious and open to new challenges will help you develop into a well-rounded solicitor.
At Hughes Paddison your training is in safe hands!
