Today the Government have announced there will be new legislation in divorce law. This new law will update the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973 in due course. It will mean that, in the future when the legislation comes into force, divorcing couples will no longer have to ‘blame’ each other for the breakdown of their marriage. It is hoped the new law will help reduce family conflict.
The stark reality of living longer is that requiring care or moving into a residential care home or nursing home is increasingly likely in later life.
Our team of lawyers has extensive knowledge and experience in dealing with the complex rules that determine how care is funded and can help you plan and prepare for such eventualities.
We will help you to identify whether the value of your assets falls below or exceeds the current capital threshold of £23,250 and advise on how to maximise your assets in order to cover future care costs if you are not eligible for funding. And if you are eligible for funding, we will guide you and recommend the most appropriate course of action to ensure the best outcome for you.
We also offer a full range of professional services to help our clients to plan for old age and to manage their affairs. Sometimes our clients simply want support; at other times our clients ask us to act as attorneys and manage their affairs for them.
Whatever your needs, our caring, specialist team will be able to help you with sympathetic and knowledgeable support.
